Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) help save money by allowing employees to use pre-tax dollars for eligible medical and dependent day care expenses.  FSAs come from Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code.  To take advantage of this benefit, at enrollment, employees can choose the amount to be taken out of their paycheck. That money is available to them for eligible expenses throughout the year.

There are two types of plans:

Medical Flexible Spending Accounts Medical FSA)
Use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical expenses

Dependent Day Care Accounts (Dependent Care FSA)
Use pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible dependent care expenses
